Site Updates

2007, Nov 12:I figured 3 years was a long time not to update a webpage, so I decided to clean things up a bit. I'm also in the midst of putting up a small tabs section to help keep track of covers I'm trying to learn.

2004, Apr 28:I've just finished writing a new song. It's tentative title is "On Any Given Night". Check out the lyrics in the songs section. An mp3 is now also available.

2004, Apr 12:New mp3's added! Over Easter weekend my brother and I recorded a couple songs together. Check out the song section for mp3's and lyrics.

2004, Mar 29:Complete revamp of the site! New sections include photos and mp3s! Entire site converted to XHTML and laid out entirely with CSS. I've also written a new song, "The Bodhi Tree", which is available in the songs section.

2004, Jan 21:I've just finished a new song called Daydreamer. Its lyrics can be found in the song section.

2004, Jan 16:Audio is back up! I was recently informed of another mp3 site to use since the demise of mp3.com. Be sure to visit my audio page at www.soundclick.com/willrose.

2003, Dec 06:Sporadic updates across the site, including a small section with venue information.

2003, Dec 06:I forgot to mention a couple things during the last update. For one, mp3.com is undergoing some major changes, and will not be available for awhile. Unfortunately, that means audio clips will not be available for the time being. On a happier note, a few days ago I recorded the song "All In Time" for an upcoming Capital Bar compilation which is slated for a February release. Along with me on the compilation will be a few other acoustic Tuesday night regulars (Chris Nettleton, Steph Loukes, Matt Harris), as well as some very well known local bands (Grand Theft Bus, Fat Jebus, Hot Toddy, and more). There's definitely promise for some good exposure here. Keep your eyes peeled for it.

2003, Dec 05:Well, haven't done a formal update in awhile. I'm just trying to clean up the code on the site as best I can. Musically however, I have a couple new songs in the songs section since the last time I updated. Go check 'em out.

2003, Sep 07:Well, I'm back in Fredericton for at least one more year. Be sure to drop by the Capital on Tuesdays where I'll most likely be playing again. There's also a new song in the songs section, "Nobody Likes You."

2003, Jul 01:I have finally completed a new song. I've had quite a few started as of late, but none finished until now. The new song is called Sweet. Go to the songs section to read the lyrics. A recording will be made soon, and posted on mp3.com in the next couple weeks.

2003, Apr 23:I played one last Capital show last night before going home for the summer. This one was extra special because it was the two year anniversary of the acoustic night. I ended up playing four songs, while being very nicely accompanied by Geoff Atkinson from Next Of Seven on the djembe. I also ended up singing some backup vocals at the end of the night for friend and host Chris Nettleton. Regulars Geoff and Steph Loukes also joined in on the djembe and harmonica. It ended up being a great night. As for site updates, I've just added a local artist link section. Go check it out.

2003, Apr 19:Total revamp of the site, as well as a new home. It's still really simple, but I like the look a lot better. Some more work will go into it in the next little while.

2003, Feb 23:I'm just now coming down from the high I experienced from performing for the 55th annual UNB Red and Black Revue. Two nights, 2 sold out (200+ people) shows, 2 standing ovations, and so much support from the fellow cast. I've been performing in some way for years, especially since grade 10 with high school coffee houses, and the bar scene in Fredericton since then. Never before have I felt so supported... everyone was encouraging everyone else, and it felt like we were like a family for at least a couple nights. I think one of the most overwhelming moments comes at the end of the night, when everyone comes out act by act to take a bow. Sure the performance is the most important part of the night, but I get so into it sometimes that I don't really notice the crowd. Also, with the spotlight in your eyes it's hard to see the crowd anyway. When it comes time to take a bow though, it's hard not to notice the crowd, and it's definitely a great natural high feeling that kind of energy. Anyway, I'm just so happy I was able to take part in something like this. It's definitely something I'll remember for years.

2002, Dec 09:I got a couple new songs in the works, which along with my last song ("Here With Me"), I am very proud of so far. As for new stuff, I recently uploaded some songs to Mp3.com which you can link to from the main page as well. So far there's only three songs but the others are on their way as I speak. The newest stuff will go up as I record it, so go and take a peek. :)

2002, Nov 12:Hmm... I just felt this part of the site was being neglected. I guess I do have a new song in the making, it's called "Here With Me". Also, I just came back from the monthly CHSR benefit open mic at The Cellar, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the crowd and the incredible talent. Most definitely the highlight of the night was watching Heathore Kelday play. I can't even express how amazing she sounded. I actually bought her band's cd as well (Barefoot is the band), which is also very good. I'm definitely gonna try to get to those Cellar shows more often.

2002, Sep 24:Performed another new song for the first time. It's called "False Impression".

2002, Sep 17Finished writing a new song. It's called "Closer to Home".
