About Me

Well, I'm from Riverview, NB, Canada (east coast if you don't know). In May 2003 I graduated from UNB, so that gives you an idea of how old I am. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science, majoring in multimedia. I completed one extra year of school at the New Brunswick Community College in Fredericton, taking a year-long multimedia course. Nowadays I am employed with the Department of National Defense at CFB Gagetown where I use my programming skills to help develop Flash courseware for our soldiers.

As for music, I've been singing all my life, but I've only been playing guitar since grade 9, which was sometime around 1996. I learned guitar from my friends and my brothers by learning cover songs that they would teach me. I also started performing around grade 10 or so, in the coffee houses that my high school would hold. There, I would usually play a couple covers a few times a year with my brother. I then moved to Fredericton, NB for university. I played a few open mics in bars starting near the end of second year in 2001, but I didn't start writing my own stuff until that summer.

Songwriting is still a new craft to me. So far I have a little over fifteen songs, but I like to think that they're getting better as I continue to write. I've recorded two demo cds at home on my computer so far, but they're pretty lo-fi. Influences are most likely the alternative music I fell in love with in high school and in university. That would include the Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows, John Mayer, Jewel, Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel, and a whole host of other artists. As for performing, I used to play weekly open mics at a couple Fredericton bars, though that hasn't happened much in the last few years. Full-time jobs really have a way of sucking up all your time. That pretty much takes me up to now, so for the time being I've got nothing else to say, other than what comes out of me in song form. I hope you enjoy the site.
